Hey Go Getta's! I know its been a while since I blogged on here but Welcome to The World of A Go Getta!!!!

Well as 2011 comes to a close I had to recap. This years has truly been one to remember. I cried more then I ever have. I lost some opportunities and gained opportunities. I gained friendship and lost friendship. I was rewarded and then demoted. I gained a love one and lost one on all the same day... 2011 has put me through more test then I have seen in my twenty something years of life (a lady never tells her age lol). But all and all as I look back I can say I made it! I made it to live a another day. I made it to keep ASKING SEEKING KNOCKING along the way. I set backed and analyzed it all and realized that I learned from each situation that was placed in front of me. I believe this is what you call "Life Lessons". These life lessons that I encountered in my opinion has made me strong and allow me to really see my self and who I am and where I am going.

The Bible shares in Psalm 119: 71 that "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your statutes." For so long whenever I would read that in the Bible I couldn't understand it. But now I have a full understanding. Sometimes in life we are suppose to go through certain situations. These situations helps us to build character, bring forth strength and sticktoitiveness.

I didn't see it before bit I am not able to see that all that I been through in 2011 has made a better me. If you haven't yet, start to recap your 2011 and see how it has transformed you like it did me. Like they say what don't kill you can only make you stronger! I can only wait to see what and hoe 2012 will transform me!

Just Wright

Something like a Cinderella story ”Just Wright” is the perfect movie to jump-start the summer Blocker Busters. Directed by Sanaa Hamri starring my favorite actors and artists Queen Latifia, Common, Paula Patton, Pam Grier and Phylicia Rashad all playing an essential role in the romantic comedy with a basketball backdrop.




NBA All-Star Scott McKnight played by the sexy Common who I got to meet recently, suffers a debilitating injury to the knee. The down to earth tough-talking physical therapist Leslie Wright played by Queen Latifah pulls out all the stops to get him back on his game in a record-breaking time. Despite the love twist with Paula Patton, Scott McKnight and Leslie Wright professional relationship turns personal when Leslie finds herself falling for Scott, and discovers the feeling may be mutual. What I love is that they don't necessarily look like a traditional couple, according to snooty society standards, but what's real may indeed be real love!

This movie is a must see not just because the line of actors and cameos from NBA players such as Dwight Howard and Dwayne Wade but because of the message the movie delivers of never giving up on yourself and that when you fine real love its not about what it looks like!

“Just Wright" gets 5 Go Getting Stars from me, so get out and see the movie. Opening in a theater near you Friday. May 14...Do not for get the pop corn and candy!

Find A Job You Love!

I was on facebook and stumbled upon a post from my friend hating his current situation in regards to school. Of course I had to comment but after doing so I felt the need to elaborate on the subject. I decided share how I felt about it and what I have learned over my short years here on earth. This is my opinion and how I feel....Enjoy! Why?!?!?!? Because Egypt Said So!

...........I had the great opportunity of interning with one of Radio's Most known Divas Ms.Egypt from EgyptSaidso.com and now taking over mid-days at WBLS in NY. When I was at BET ( Black Entertainment Television) I got to personally intern with Egypt where she hosted the segment "Under The Rug" on the now canceled show "The Black Carpet" Egypt always entered into the studio or edit suit with a great spirit and much energy. She would knock out her segments in one take and always came prepared. Known for the infamous "handle ya scandal" unlike many sources out there, Egypt always gave you the real of celebrity gossip/news and still to this day she gives it to you raw at EgyptSaidSo.com. Often siting in the edit (the edit room) after her take, she not only played on air personality, yet a producer, mentor to me and other interns and a great friend. Grind Season

Grind Season

Im starting to realize that every season is grind season.  There is no time like the night time to get stuff done. Im so confused as to why is it that my over drive to be creative, to do work, to put on the thinking cap kicks in about 1:30 am?!?!?!?! I so need my beauty sleep but its like my drive to go higher, my drive to succeed, my drive to allow my dreams to come true tells me that sleep is not important. It tells me that if I want to be great I can not sleep right now!  I shake my head at the thought that its 3:37 a.m and Im wide a wake and ready to work. I must find the cause of this but until I do I will Grind all day and Grind all night!!! Its Go Getting Time!  

The young Men!

I'm sitting here at my new job getting comfortable. I cleaned out the office that was given to me. I organized the paper that was left in it and cleaned out the cabinets. As I sit her with my door open I her the sound of little boys cursing as if they are grown men ( not saying that its ok to use such language when your grown) but I couldn't believe my ears. I thought to when I was their age, was I using such language? was I young and just cursing like my mother didnt teach me no better? So i called them in to my office and asked them all how old they was? The agaes ranged from 8 to 13 years of age. Im not going to say I was shocked but I felt sad top hear what they was saying. One called one of the young ladies that passed by them " My baby mama" I heard the other say " Yeah this how I would bang that B*t^&" These young lil man I beging to think are our future and it sadened me to see where their minds at 8 to 13 was. I just wanted to cry inside. I felt compealed to do something, teach them something, tell them its not ok to use such language or to call a women such words, but who am I? Im not their mother or a family member, but seeing such I felt like Adriana, the person who will tyr to help and change a kid one word at a time. We all are somebodies and can help any body!
